Salespeople, sales organizations, and any business or profession succeed or fail based on the systems in place, period.
You can discuss work ethic, knowledge, skills, presentation, personality, etc. Look around you: your competitors, thriving businesses, professions, athletes, actors, and those with systems in place—win!
A recipe is a system. Miss an ingredient, too much or too little of an ingredient, the temperature too high or too low, a result.

Do pilots have a system and checklist, be it their 78th flight or 4,319th flight?
Tom Brady? Kansas City Chiefs? A surgeon? Google? Amazon?
Systems take effort and thought and are most likely very difficult for those who think winging it is working. Systems are trackable, measurable and a roadmap to whatever outcomes you want.
With systems, when results are not where you want them to be, something is missing in the system, or you are using the incorrect system, or you are taking shortcuts.
Setting up systems and measurements is as boring as watching a rock grow, but not as boring and stressful as mediocre results or learning the 33 million secrets to sales success!
